Sunday, Funday, Runday...it's also laundry, clean-house, yard, weed-pulling, grocery day. I don't have the girls this weekend so I'm taking advantage of alone time. This also means I can go out for a run. This past week, I ran only 1 time, on Monday. Friday was supposed to be a running day but I ended up going out to see a band. So much fun!
I am about 12 weeks out and need to build my mileage. One good thing is my new eating plan. I figure this will give me enough energy to finish my runs. I just started receiving my Clean Eating magazine and love it. It has a 2 week eating plan and it looks rather easy. Has anyone used this plan? A friend of mine has started this way of eating and looks and feels great. She is only doing hot yoga (been there, done that, loved it, wish I could get back into it) and has lost some weight. Mostly, she feels good which is where I need to be. My sister is Vegan but I am going no where near that lifestyle...I like cheese too much!
This week's running plan is to do a total of about 10 miles which is doable. Anyone out there like me? Single Mom in training for a half? I'm struggling only because I'm lazy...yes, I'll put it out there..I am lazy. Oh and I like beer too much...hahaha!
Maybe it should be Sunday, Funday, Runday, Beerday!
Single Half Journey
As I train for my second half marathon, I can't help but think about how things are so different this time around. I was a stay at home Mom who was able to train whenever I wanted. I am now a single mom working full time. I need to do this for myself and for single Moms everywhere who think they can't fit exercise and eating right into their schedule.

Run 3 miles or eat a cupcake?
I'm not a writer...I have terrible grammar...oh and I'm pretty hard on myself. Can you tell? Today is Saturday and the girls are with their Dad. I'll be picking them up in a few hours so this is the perfect time to go out for a run. OUT for a run. Such a treat to be able to run outside and not in my garage on the treadmill. However, taking the first step out the door, requires motivation. And I have none of that...none...
All I really want to do is eat the cupcake in my fridge that is calling my name. This is no ordinary cupcake...it's a Gigi Cupcake..and it's torturing me. My plan this morning when i woke up? Go for a run and then eat the cupcake as a reward. Guilt and lack of motivation got in the way. I'm tempted to forget the run and just eat the cupcake. Why does it have to taste so good with coffee!?! I'm dressed and ready to run. I have my running shoes on (Saucony..the BEST) and my running skirt, Garmin, hat...why am I at the computer!?
In a nutshell, I'll give you my story. I gained a lot of weight during pregnancy, Dad had by-pass surgery (even though he is a clean eater and exercises 5 days a week), I decided to get healthy, lost 25 pounds and 22 inches, ran multiple 5ks, 10ks and a half marathon, got divorced, got a full time job, gained back 20 pounds and lost all motivation. So, there it is...
I signed up for the Greensboro half marathon through a living social deal. Why is it that I had to wait for a coupon to get the slightest bit of motivation? I have 13 weeks to train. Ok, time to go eat that cupcake!
